Who We Are
IMPRESS COMMUNITY AID AND SUPPORT ORGANIZATION
Impress Community Aid and Support Organisation (ImpressAid) is a Nigerian non-governmental organization committed to building resilient, thriving communities by upholding the rights and dignity of the most vulnerable — particularly children, women, and girls. Founded on the belief that every person deserves access to opportunity, safety, and a healthy environment, ImpressAid works at the intersection of education, health, protection, and climate justice to drive sustainable, community-led change across Nigeria.
We partner with communities, government agencies, civil society organizations, and international donors to design and implement programs that are evidence-based, gender-responsive, and rooted in the lived realities of the people we serve. At the heart of everything we do is a deep respect for community voices — especially those that are rarely heard.
Core Values
Integrity: We uphold the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct. Excellence: We strive for excellence in all our initiatives, from program design to execution. Collaboration: We value partnerships and work closely with local, national, and international stakeholders to amplify our impact. Innovation: We are committed to finding creative and effective solutions to the challenges faced by the communities we serve. Vision
To build a world where every one has the opportunity to reach their full potential in a Safe, Healthy and Nurturing Environment.
Thematic Areas
ImpressAid’s work is organized around four integrated thematic pillars, each addressing a critical dimension of vulnerability while reinforcing the others:
1. Education & Child Empowerment
We promote access to quality, inclusive education for all children who have been left behind — including orphans, street children, internally displaced children, children from low-income households, and others excluded from mainstream learning. We work to remove the financial, social, and systemic barriers that keep vulnerable children out of school, improve learning outcomes, and equip young people with the life skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to shape their own futures. We recognize that education is the foundation upon which all other rights are built.
2. Health, Nutrition & WASH
We implement community health programs that deliver essential services, promote food availability and safety, and improve access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene. We address the distinct health and nutritional needs of vulnerable children, adolescent girls, and mothers — ensuring children have reliable access to safe and nutritious food, supporting maternal and child health, and designing gender-sensitive WASH solutions that protect the dignity and wellbeing of every community member. We also address the serious health risks faced by women and children in mining-affected communities, where exposure to toxic substances compounds existing vulnerabilities.
3. Child Protection & Women and Girls’ Rights
We believe every child has the right to grow up safe, loved, and free from harm. We work to protect all children — boys and girls alike — from abuse, neglect, exploitation, forced labour, and violence. We give particular attention to the gendered dimensions of harm: the sexual violence, early and forced marriage, and trafficking that disproportionately affect girls; and the street involvement, hazardous labour, and recruitment into criminal activity that disproportionately affect boys. Woven throughout this pillar is a commitment to advancing the rights of women and girls — because children are safest in communities where women are empowered, respected, and free.
4. Climate Justice & Resilient Communities
We recognize that climate change, environmental degradation, and extractive industry practices fall hardest on those with the least power to resist them — particularly children, women, and rural communities. We support communities in adapting to climate impacts, building sustainable livelihoods, and advocating for their environmental rights. We also work in mining-affected communities to protect children from hazardous labour, address environmental health risks, and support women and families with health services and livelihood alternatives. We believe climate justice and human rights are inseparable.
